Bondi’s Dominique Faludi’s morning routine is one to take note of

Need morning motivation? Model and influencer, Dominique Faludi has her morning routine down pat and it is one that we want to adopt (read: no snoozing the alarm six times).

From taking her favourite Power Living class to jumping in the ocean, a steady morning routine sets the tone for Dominique’s busy scheduled days and we are always curious to find out how others start their mornings — especially yogis!

See below how Dominique plans out her morning in order to make the most of the first rays of light in the day.

 

Power Living: What does a typical morning look like for you?

 

Dominique Faludi:

7.00 a.m. – I have such a strong body clock, and am always awake by 7 a.m. on a typical day off. The first thing I do in the morning is make myself a big chai tea with soy milk honey. It is my favourite way to start the day.

8.00 – Around 8am, I will slice a banana up and add peanut butter to each slice. This is the perfect snack before I head to my 9.30 a.m. heated vinyasa flow at Power Living Bondi Beach.

9.00 – I am always early to class, I like to take 20 minutes to practice my breathing and just enjoy the peaceful space. This really acts as a mini digital detox too.

11.00 – After class, I am usually starving and will walk around the corner to Cali Press and get an acai bowl or a green smoothie. In summer, I’ll walk down to the ocean after and have a dip. There is no better way to start your day, you feel energised and clear headed.

 

PL: What is your favourite class at Power Living?

 

DF: My favourite class is a heated vinyasa level 2. I love the 75 minute classes that involve 60 minutes of flow, and 15 minutes of meditation.

 

PL: What is your favourite yoga pose?

 

DF: Savasana! But also warrior two. I feel extremely powerful in this pose and it is super uplifting if I am feeling sluggish.

 

PL: How long have you been practicing yoga?

 

DF: I have been practising yoga for 6 years now.

 

PL: What one thing do you do every day?

 

DF: Every night before bed, I write down 10 things I am grateful for. This had changed my mindset on life and has really made me a more positive person.

 

PL: How do you unwind?

 

DF: To unwind, I love to exfoliate, moisturise and put lavender palm on my temples and wrists. I then light a candle in my room and tuck into bed with a good book. I really recommend “Hippies in the City” – I have read this book about four times, and its just a great reminder on how to live a holistic lifestyle in the busy life we all lead.
