Andrea Bocelli steals the show with epic cover of Phantom of the Opera

With a voice as incredible as his, it is no wonder why Andrea Bocelli has become a household name in the entertainment scene and can easily sell thousands of music show tickets.

Dubbed as “the world’s most popular living tenor”, Bocelli has cemented his status as one of the greatest singers the world has ever known. He is also a best-selling artist, having sold over 90 million records worldwide.

Shortly after his birth in 1958, the Italian singer-songwriter was diagnosed with congenital glaucoma and became completely blind at the age of 12 following a soccer accident.

But there was nothing that could hinder Bocelli’s talent from being discovered. In 1992, a demo tape of him singing the song “Miserere” found its way into the hands of famous Italian operatic tenor Luciano Pavarotti, via the Italian rock star Zucchero. This connection sparked the beginning of a successful singing career for Bocelli.

Now at 60 years old and with a career spanning almost three decades, Bocelli has continued to amaze the world with his immense talent.

Throughout the years, Bocelli has treated audiences with hundreds of unforgettable live concerts, but there is one, in particular, that will stick with anyone who hears it, especially those who witnessed the chilling performance in person.

We are referring to Bocelli’s performance of the song “The Music of the Night”, from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s famous musical, “The Phantom of the Opera”. He sang it during a memorial concert for the late Lady Diana at the London Wembley Stadium on July 1, 2007.

Accompanied by a powerful orchestra, Bocelli serenaded the audience with his enchanting vocals before concluding the number with a huge finish. He definitely stole the show and left spectators awestruck with his musical prowess.
